He began his professional music career in 1986 as the leader of the band Motoyoshi Iwasaki & WINDY, which released four singles and two albums. Following the group's dissolution, he established himself as a prolific composer and arranger for other vocalists while also continuing to perform as a session musician and solo artist. Iwasaki's work in anime is extensive. He composed and arranged music for the soundtrack of Metal Fighter Miku and contributed as a composer and arranger for Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit V Gundam. His credits also include arranging and composing for Taiho Shichauzo (You're Under Arrest), Dirty Pair FLASH2, and Kishin Douji Zenki. Beyond his compositional work, Iwasaki has occasionally performed theme songs, most notably the ending theme for the Babel II original video animation.
