Takako Matsu, born Takako Fujima in Tokyo on June 10, 1977, is a Japanese pop singer and songwriter who has maintained a parallel career in music and acting since the mid-1990s. Her musical identity is rooted in J-pop, and she has released ten studio albums since her debut. Matsu began her music career in 1997 with the single Ashita, Haru ga Kitara, which peaked at number eight on the Oricon Singles Chart and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Her debut album, Sora no Kagami, released the same year, reached number four on the Oricon Albums Chart and earned a platinum certification, leading to her being named Best New Artist of the Year at the 12th Japan Gold Disc Awards. Her second studio album, Ai no Tobira, followed in 1998, reaching number three on the Oricon chart and achieving gold certification. Over her career, she has released albums under several major labels, including BMG Japan, Universal Music Japan, and Ariola Japan. Her later studio albums include Home Grown, Harvest Songs, Cherish You, and Ashita wa Doko kara, released in 2017.

Within the realm of anime and animated works, Takako Matsu is recognized for several key music contributions. She performed Kitto Tsutaete, which was used as the second ending theme song for the anime series The Beast Player Erin. The song was introduced starting from episode 30 of the series, which aired in 2009. Her most globally recognized anime-related work is her role as the singing voice of Elsa for the Japanese dub of Disney's Frozen franchise. She performed the Japanese version of the song Let It Go for the 2013 film Frozen. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and was certified million by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. She reprised this role for the sequel, Frozen II, performing the Japanese version of Into the Unknown. For this performance, she was invited to join the original voice actress Idina Menzel and other international Elsa performers on stage at the 92nd Academy Awards in 2020 to sing the song.

Matsu has engaged in notable recurring collaborations with other musicians and producers. She co-wrote the single Toki no Fune with singer-songwriter Akeboshi, who also produced the track. Several of her early works, including much of the Ai no Tobira album, were arranged by producer Satoshi Takebe, to whom she is related by marriage. Matsu also collaborated with her husband, guitarist and record producer Yoshiyuki Sahashi, who has contributed to her recordings. Her music catalog includes twenty-one singles, with other notable songs such as Minna Hitori, another top-ten hit on the Oricon chart. In addition to her studio work, she has released compilation albums like Five Years: Singles and Footsteps: 10th Anniversary Complete Best, as well as live albums documenting her concert tours.
