In the capital city of Shinto Tokyou, humans and monsters coexist in an uneasy but functional harmony. The young protagonist Uta receives a crucial mission from her grandmother: she must find the Makibara Clan. Her search is complicated by the recent dismissal of the clan’s entire household staff, an order given by the landlord Rinnosuke. As Uta begins her task, she finds herself in the middle of a larger crisis, as the city has been plagued by a series of mysterious disappearances involving people being spirited away without a trace.

The narrative follows Uta as she navigates the supernatural undercurrents of Shinto Tokyou, seeking the displaced Makibara Clan while confronting the growing threat of the vanishments. The story progresses through her investigation, which ties the fate of the clan to the citys safety. As a mini-series, the plot unfolds across a compact number of chapters, building toward a confrontation with the forces responsible for the disappearances, culminating in the series conclusion in October 2024.
